Leute, ihr habst was versäumt !!
Es kamen leider nur 21 Piloten zu den Petzen Open und die abwesenden werden es bereuen :)
Gemütlich um 11:00 war die Auffahrt mit der Gondelbahn, im Tal ca. 20°, am Berg deutlich kälter, der Gradient stimmt also.
Beim Briefing wurde eine 64km Aufgabe bekanntgegeben, Startboje im Osten, Hochobir, dann ins Flache mit Kömmel, St. Michael, Schattberg und Ziel. Schon gleich nach Window open konnte der Frühstarter Alex Schalber an der Basis auf ca. 2800m gesichtet werden. Die Thermik pulsierte deutlich, was einigen beim Window open um 13:00 Probleme bereitete. Unterweg richtung Obir konnte man den angesagten NW Wind spüren, durch die gute Thermik war aber die Querung über Eisenkappel kein Problem.
Zurück an der Petzen wurde möglichst viel Höhe getankt, wobei es darauf zu achten galt, die Höhenbeschränkung von 9500ft (2895m) nicht zu überschreiten - frühzeitiges verlassen der Thermik war also angesagt. Dies war aber sowieso vorteilhaft, denn unnötige Höhe zu tanken kostet Zeit.
Am schnellsten im Goal war Grieshofer Georg mit einem Schnitt von 34,3km/h. Sein Vorsprung von 23 Sekunden auf den vom Weltcup kommenden Denis Soverini reichte aber nicht, denn unterwegs war er nicht immer an der Spitze.
Wie immer konnte Brandlehner Stefan trotz des Nachteils durch den D-Klasse Schirms ganz vorne mitmischen, er wurde 6 Minuten vor Schalber Alex Dritter.
Wir gratulieren den Siegern und allen Piloten, die sich die Zeit für den Bewerb genommen haben.

Das Wetter schaut zumindest für Samstag sehr gut aus, Sonntag könnte sich später auch noch ein Task ausgehen. Einschreibung 9:00 - 10:30 beim Beachvolleyballplatz Camping Pirkdorfersee.

On the competition days we will have special permission to use part of the airspace LOWK1 from airport Klagenfurt, where usually a uper limit of 4500ft is active. For pilots not able to download waypoints to their GPS or upload the track to livetrack24, the organiser offers the possibility to maualy up/download data from/to GPS. This will be charged with € 5,- per day. GPS-cables für most devices are available, but to be sure, please bring your own cable with you.

If number of max. participants is reached by 4.6.2020, selection will be done according WPRS-ranking. Maximum 60 austrian pilots, remaining spots for foreign pilots. Payment of full entry fee will be required to confirm registration. In case of cancellation an amount of EUR 5,- will kept for organisers cost, rest will be refunded.
If number of max. participants is not reached on 4.6. pilots will be selected according "first come - first serve"
Entry fee:
60 ,-- EUR, payment cash at competition office or in advance (depends on number of registrations).
