Trofeo Montegrappa




The competition of the "Trofeo Montegrappa 2017" is run as FAI Category 2 paragliding international event.


Local Rules

Registration

The registrations fulfilment will be the 12 April: from 18.00 to 22.00;

Opening Briefing will be at the head-quarter on Thursday, the 13 April: 8.15,

Documents to show for the registration (MANDATORY)

i. Flight Licence

ii. FAI Licence

iii.Receipt of payment of entry fee

iv.Insurance (in compliance of FAI rules)

Note: All documents must be valid


Gliders admitted

Only paragliders approved by institutions in accordance with EN 926-2e EN 926-1 will be allowed.


All paragliders non-performing and non-successfully passing all tests (structural and in flight) provided by homologation tests and EN F will be excluded.

All EN B and C gliders are accepted as they are. 


All EN D gliders with flat aspect ratio of 7.0 or less are accepted as they are. 


EN gliders EN certified in time for the 2014 European championship with flat aspect ratio higher than 7.0 (Axis Mercury Sport, Gin Boomerang 9, Niviuk Icepeak 7 Pro, Ozone Enzo 1 & 2, Swing Core 3…) have to comply with the following CCC requirements:

  • CCC lines.
  • Risers limiters installed.
  • Measurement File has to be filled only with: line and riser length, drawing of riser, table of lines quality.
  • Updated users’ manual, including the Measurement File.
  • Test Laboratories send to CIVL the Certification of Compliance and Measurement File.

Gliders homologation will be proven through the publication of certificate on the issuing institution website. The certification has to show the date of homologation.

The date must be earlier than the first race day of the Trofeo Montegrappa 2017.

Pilots who will modify the glider, lines, risers (p.es.: operating trim or using knots), when not provided for homologation, will be disqualified. Likewise, pilots will be disqualified if they will use a modified speed bar to that provided by homologation.

The pilot shall weight in flight within the range expected by the glider certification, otherwise the pilot will be disqualified.

It is MANDATORY to use an homologated helmet (EN 966).

It is a MANDATORY safety requirement to possess a LPD or VHF radio device, turned on and tuned to the frequencies set by the organization.

Complaints

Any complaints must be submitted before 9.00 am on the day following publication of the provisional ranking or within 30 minutes of the publication of the final ranking. A deposit of € 50.00 will be requested to the pilot and. The deposit will not be returned, if the appeal should be rejected.

Selection and entry fee

Participants and selection

The maximum number of entries admitted in the contest is 150 pilots:

i. 120 places will be assigned to selected pilots, according to the January 27, 2017 FAI ranking WPRO
ii. 10 places will be assigned to women
iii.20 wild cards, assigned by the organization

In compliance with National Sporting Regulation 2016 (app. B.3), about 40% of the available places will be guaranteed to the Italian pilots. Selection will be made according to the Italian Overall Ranking of October 31, 2016.

In case of ranking draw results, pilot that results pre-registered first will have priority.

Registration of the entries will become effective only after the entry fees payment. Payment has to be done within 7 days after the pilot confirmation date.

Confirmation will be sent to the pilots by email and published in the list of confirmed participants.

The organization may accept or not the registration of each pilot. Pilots may be excluded from the contest for reasons related to safety or in case of inability to verify the pilot references regards legal obligations.


Registration

Deadline will be the 1st March 2017.

List of confirmed pilots will be published within the 02 March 2017.

Only pre-registered pilots will be accepted.

Third­-Party Insurance is mandatory.

Entry fee and payment

Entry fee is € 165.00 and it includes:

i.   1 Dinner offered by the organization
ii.  Packed-lunch for all days of competition
iii.  Gadgets
iv.   Emergency service for all race days
v.  Retrieval for all race days
vi. Live tracking
vii.One year valid Flycard
viii.  Transport to take off for all race days

Fees paid will not be returned for any reason or for any claim.

Should not be any valid task, part of the paid fee will be refunded to each registered pilot, with a minimum amount of € 20.00 to a maximum of € 80.00, depending on the costs incurred by the organization.

The entry fee must be paid within 7 days after the confirmation (email), by bank transfer or Pay-pal.

An additional fee of €40,00 will be charge for delayed payment.

Competition schedule

The race will take place from 13th to 17th April, 2017.

Program may change depending on weather conditions or organizational needs.

Any changes will be published in the official bulletin board at the head-quarter.

Prizes and Awards


The contest will be valid for awarding the title of "Montegrappa Trophy 2017" Champion, if minimum one task is valid.

Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to collect the prize.

We do not accept proxies. Prizes not claimed will remain at the Aero Club Montegrappa.

Rankings


Following rankings will be fulfilled :

i.   OVERALL
ii.  SPORT (with at least 10 participants)
iii. SERIAL (with at least 10 participants)
iv. WOMEN (with at least 5 participants)
v.  CLUBS (3 best pilots for Club each task)


OVERALL

For all pilots flying certified EN B - EN C - EN D - EN CCC or DHV/LTF 2/ 2-3 paragliders. If there is a double homologation, the more restrictive will be considered valid.


SPORT

Reserved for pilots flying certified EN B - EN C - EN D or DHV/LTF 2/2-3. If there is a double homologation, the more restrictive will be considered valid.


SERIAL

Reserved for pilots flying certified EN B – EN C o DHV/LTF 2. If there is a double homologation, the more restrictive will be considered valid.
