Der Sonntag beginnt mit bestem Wetter, auch die Vorhersagen scheinen besser wie gestern. Um eine frühe Siegerehrung zu ermöglichen, wird ein Task mit 50km im Tal ausgeschrieben. Zuerst 15km nach Westen am Berg und dann ins Flachland. Die Wolken heute schauen deutlich besser aus, Task-start ist schon um 12:45. Die frühen Starter können auch schon aufdrehen, aber es ist leider wie gestern extrem schwierig, am Start Höhe zu machen. Diesem Problem fallen auch heute wieder 25 Piloten zum Opfer. Dass der Task fliegbar war, zeigt uns wieder einmal der Profi Stefan Brandlehner. Er fliegt als einziger mit seinem XC-Racer ins Goal.
Fast schaut es so aus, dass auch Peter Wais es schaffen könnte, aber seine Geduld und Ausdauer wird noch belohnt.
Den Bewerb gewinnt verdient Stefan Brandlehner vor Georg Grieshofer und Dusan Oroz.
Die Kärntner Landesmeisterschaft gewinnt der letztjährige Vizelandesmeister Peter Holzer vor Andreas Wurzer und Reinhold Janesch.

Task 1

49 Piloten finden den Weg zur Petzen Open. Registrierung und Auffahrt sind entspannt, aber durch COVID-Regeln dauert es doch. Es wird ein 80km Task ausgeschrieben. Die Vorhersage von Alptherm und anderen
Diensten verspricht gute Bedingungen.
Leider ist die Vorhersage etwas daneben. Der Ostwind ist um 14:00 noch vorhanden und zwingt leider ca. 30 Piloten zur Landung. Die Top-Piloten schaffen den Einstieg und können die 80km in Angriff nehmen.
Unterwegs war zu Beginn der Ostwind deutlich stärker wie vorhergesagt. Die meisten der "Überlebenden" schafften die zweite Boje. Am Rückweg kamen wieder ein paar tief, aber der abnehmende Ostwind belohnte diejenigen, die die richtigen Linien wählten.
Am Ende sind 8 Piloten im Goal.
Hoffen wir für morgen, dass die Vorhersagen stimmen, es sollte besser wie heute sein.

Das Wetter für das Wochenende schaut so gut aus, dass wir heute schon die Entscheidung für die Durchführung getroffen haben.
Treffpunkt 9:00 für Registration neben Campingplatz Pirkdorfersee.
Bitte Masken für den Transport / Rückholung nicht vergessen und auf die Abstandsregeln achten.

On the competition days we will have special permission to use part of the airspace LOWK1 from airport Klagenfurt, where usually a uper limit of 4500ft is active. For pilots not able to download waypoints to their GPS or upload the track to livetrack24, the organiser offers the possibility to maualy up/download data from/to GPS. This will be charged with € 5,- per day. GPS-cables für most devices are available, but to be sure, please bring your own cable with you.

If number of max. participants is reached by 7.7.2020, selection will be done according WPRS-ranking. Maximum 60 austrian pilots, remaining spots for foreign pilots. Payment of full entry fee will be required to confirm registration. In case of cancellation an amount of EUR 5,- will kept for organisers cost, rest will be refunded.
If number of max. participants is not reached on 7.7. pilots will be selected according "first come - first serve"
